1. Introduction
GCast turns any mobile game into a TV-ready social experience with AI-enhanced features. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information when you use the GCast mobile application ("App").
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data in compliance with GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and Apple App Store requirements.
2. Information We Collect
We collect minimal data necessary to provide and improve the service:
- Account & Contact Data: Email address if you register, sign up for beta testing, or contact support.
- Device Data: Device type, operating system version, IP address (for streaming optimization and security).
- Usage Data: Interactions with the app (cast sessions, overlays enabled, crash logs, error diagnostics).
- Subscription & Purchase Data: If you subscribe to GCast TURBO, we process your subscription status and transaction identifiers through Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) to unlock and manage your subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never receive or store your card details.
- Advertising Identifier (only with your permission): If you allow tracking via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, we collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and share it with our mobile measurement partner (Airbridge) to attribute app installs to our advertising campaigns and measure their performance. If you decline, we do not use the IDFA and this identifier is not collected.
- Screen & Gameplay Context (AI Companion): When using the AI Companion, the app may analyze on-screen text or images locally to generate insights. This data is processed in real time and not stored on our servers. We do not collect any of this data.
We do not collect your payment card details, phone contacts, or sensitive personal identifiers.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Enable casting gameplay from your phone to TV.
- Provide overlays, multiplayer features, and AI-generated tips.
- Improve app performance, diagnose issues, and prevent abuse.
- Provide and manage the GCast TURBO subscription (unlock premium features, restore purchases, handle renewals).
- With your permission, attribute app installs and measure the performance of our own advertising campaigns.
- Communicate with you about product updates or support requests.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising beyond measuring our own campaigns.
4. Data Sharing
We may share limited data with:
- Service Providers: product analytics (Amplitude), diagnostics and logging (Datadog), subscription management (Apple, RevenueCat), and cloud infrastructure (Supabase, AWS). These providers process data on our behalf under contract.
- Advertising Measurement (App Tracking Transparency): Only if you grant permission, we share your device's advertising identifier and install/attribution events with our mobile measurement partner (Airbridge) to attribute app installs and measure the effectiveness of our own advertising. Our subscription provider (RevenueCat) may forward subscription events to this partner for the same purpose. You can withdraw this permission at any time (see "Your Rights").
- Legal Obligations: When required by law or regulation.
We do not share gameplay content or AI Companion inputs with advertisers or any third party.
5. Data Storage & Retention
- Account and contact data are retained as long as your account is active or as required by law.
- Diagnostic and usage logs are stored for up to 12 months for debugging.
- AI Companion context is processed locally and never stored.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Opt out of analytics or crash reporting (via device settings).
- Turn off ad tracking at any time — decline Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, or go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you opt out, we do not collect or share your advertising identifier.
- Request data portability (EU).
- Object to processing or lodge a complaint with a data authority.

7. Children's Privacy
GCast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we discover such data, we will delete it immediately.
8. Security
We use encryption, secure connections, and restricted access to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure.
9. International Transfers
Data may be processed outside your country of residence. In such cases, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
10. Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted in the App and on gcast.app.
